Sportsmen's Marathon Team

Meet the Sportsmen’s Marathon Team

Congratulations to the 2025 Inaugural Sportsmen’s Boston Marathon Team!
We look forward to cheering you on April 21st!

Meegan Minahan

What do you do with your day? Are you employed, a student, retired?
I am getting my Master’s in Museum Studies and Digital Curation from Johns Hopkins University. I also work as a sous chef at a restaurant in the South End.

How long have you been running?
I have been seriously running for close to two years, but I played soccer my whole life (I was a goalkeeper).

What made you want to run for Sportsmen’s (STEC)?
I wanted to run for STEC because I recently picked up tennis, and it has brought me so much joy. STEC’s mission to reduce the barriers around tennis for local kids is something that I believe is very important. I am so excited to have the opportunity to support STEC!

If you could time travel back anywhere – where would it be? And why?
I would love to go back to the 1970s! I love music, fashion, and film from that decade.

Who is your favorite athlete of all time? And why are they your favorite?
As a former soccer player and massive Celtics fan, my favorite athlete(s) are Jrue and Lauren Holiday! They are a true power couple and have dealt with a lot of obstacles and always give back to their communities. On top of it all, they’re amazing athletes!

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be? And why?
Anthony Bourdain! I would love to have the opportunity to hear him talk about his life, travels, and food.

Why should someone support your run?
Someone should support my run because running the Boston Marathon has been a dream of mine for a long time. My mom and my aunt have both run the marathon, and I remember cheering them on as a kid. As an undergrad at Boston College, I got to see how the city of Boston shows up to support the marathon runners, and it is unlike any other sporting event I have ever seen. I am very grateful to be able to run for an organization that I believe wholeheartedly in. Any form of support would mean the world to me!
