Adult Tennis

Sportsmen’s Tennis & Enrichment Center is a year-round tennis center, with 7 indoor and 7 outdoor hard courts, a clubhouse with showers and lockers, and free off-street parking. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our mission is to build leaders on the court, in the classroom and in the greater community by providing academic, wellness and social development programs alongside recreational and competitive tennis instruction for youth and adults. STEC is committed to improving life opportunities for youth in Boston’s Blue Hill Corridor while welcoming a diverse community from the Greater Boston area.
Although we are a youth-centered organization, we are comprised of and supported by an adult community of more than 300 adult members and regular guests.

Please Note:
Courts will be unavailable during Summer Camp hours, but will be open weekdays from 8am-9am and weeknights from 5pm-8pm, and weekends from 8am-5pm. Weekend hours are subject to change depending on court demand.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is a fun, affordable way to play tennis daily during the indoor season. For a flat fee, Breakfast Club Members may play any Monday-Friday morning on three or four designated indoor courts starting at 7:00 AM from October through March.  This is not lesson time; it is intended for random doubles play and no use of the ball machine is available. There are typically players of all skill levels available to participate, but there is no guarantee on any given day how many players will attend (Attendance will be capped this year for health and safety reasons so please see NEW THIS FALL for program changes.)  The fee for Breakfast Club is $45 per month for members and $55 per month for non-members.

Contact the front desk at 617.288.9092 for more information.

For health and safety reasons, there are no more than 4 players allowed on a court at one time so we will be limiting Breakfast Club membership to 32 people per month and breaking the time into two sessions of 16 players each – the Early Session from 7:00 am – 9:00 am and the Late Session from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.  Members choose one session (Early or Late) to attend and are welcome to come any Monday-Friday all month long during that time.  No drop-ins or guests will be allowed during the pandemic.

Friday Night Tennis

On Friday evenings, adults ages 21 and over join us for Mixed Doubles! Per the Mayor’s recent rollback, we will return to normal hours as of Feb 1st (8-10 pm and 10-midnight). Just show up to be randomly matched with a partner of the opposite sex and play 2 hours of mixed doubles for a flat rate of $15 per person for members, $18 for guests. Players pay by phone or in person staring at noon each Friday. There are 24 spots available excluding the singles court. Sign up is also available for 2 singles players. This year, courts will be assigned as people arrive to prevent lobby crowding but players can swap courts if mutually agreeable.

At 10:00 PM, depending on player and court availability, new players take to the courts for the same price, or many players ‘remix’ and play again until midnight at no additional cost.

Please note that you may not select your own partner, arrive as a group and expect to play together, or sign up for people who are not physically present. Court spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis in accordance with the order of sign-ins.
