Healthcare professionals from Brigham and Women’s Hospital opened a COVID-19 testing site today at the Sportsmen’s Tennis and Enrichment Center in Dorchester on Friday, May 15, 2020.
In addition to testing for the virus, workers screened for food insecurity. Those who were eligible will receive boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables and the potential to receive eight free weeks of food delivery.
Testing was provided on a walk-in, first-come, first-serve basis. Participants were not required to be Brigham and Women patients or have health insurance. No one was asked about immigration status.
